The Peter Principle (II)

... in which Peter Mackay outdoes himself. Reminding every Newfoundlander that the worst possible outcome of an election would be to have someone from out of province represent them in a Harper cabinet.

Afterall, guess what happens when an Island doesn't vote Conservative? You'll never guess how those provinces get punished...

...they get stuck with a mainlander.* Like Peter Mackay.

Punishment enough, I suppose.

*his choice of words, not mine

When PEI voted Liberal in 1988, even as the rest of the country gave Mulroney a second majority, do you know how Mulroney got his revenge?

By entering into an agreement with a consortium to build a bridge linking PEI to New Brunswick.

Dastardly!

I saw the same irony, but left it unsaid in my blog post about his anti-democratic remarks.

It's funny that a guy who has been assigned regional minister for PEI could undercut his own credibility in such a way without even reailzing the hypocrisy.

Stephen Harper wakes up every day ruingthe day he passed over Bill Casey and in favour of this half-wit.

Of course, he also couldn't remember the names of the two guys he was there to plug either.
